San Telmo



San Telmo is the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires. It is where the wealthiest families lived until 1870. Today antique shops, tango parlours, cafés and colonial buildings line the cobble-stoned streets.

On Sundays, the exceedingly long Defensa street becomes a magnet for tourists, and hence artists, artisans and stall holders also flock to the area in an attempt to sell any and every kind of useless junk you could possibly imagine. Here are a few examples:
